In Memory of
Carolyn DeLaugher

It is with heavy hearts, yet with gratitude for a life that touched so many, that we share the news that Carolyn DeLaughter went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

 

Carolyn was so much more than a supporter of Decatur Underground Theater (DUT)—she was one of its greatest champions, a driving force behind its success, and a cherished member of the DUT family. From the very beginning, when DUT was first organized in 2010, Carolyn was there, helping lay the foundation for what would become a special part of our community. She went on to serve as DUT's Executive Vice President of Operations, faithfully overseeing the financial and operational details that helped keep our organization and productions running smoothly.

But Carolyn's greatest contribution cannot be measured in budgets, productions, or accomplishments. It is found in the countless lives she touched, the friendships she built, the encouragement she gave, and the love she shared with everyone around her. Her dedication, generosity, and unwavering belief in DUT helped shape not only the organization we are today, but also the family we have become.​

Carolyn, thank you for believing in us, standing beside us, and being such an important part of our journey. We celebrate your life, cherish your memory, and take comfort in knowing that you are now home in the loving arms of the Lord.

In lieu of flowers or other honorariums, at the request of the DeLaughter family, we invite you to make a donation to Decatur Underground Theater in Carolyn's honor. Carolyn would have it no other way. Your contribution will help carry forward the work of an organization she loved so dearly and to which she gave so much of herself.
